Lol Mraah hahaha you guys tickle me so when a new game is released. You all act like lil 10 year olds a few days before christmas (oh come on mom let me open just one package, pahleeeeeezah, I'll be good I promise. ;) ) She says ok, but, she gets to pick which one...you start dancing a jig, jumping up and down...grinning like a cheshire cat...she hands you the package and you ripped it open like you were starving or something and you knew there was food inside.....and then....finally......it's open and your bright eyes turn to dark gloomy shruken beads of displeasure as you behold....a package of fruit of the loom underwear. ;) hahaha

Just canceled my copy...am retracting all statements to order this one now. Just found out this REQUIRES IE 7.0...sorry I don't mind downloading drivers and patches, but, this goes too far when you force consumers to upgrade to one of the crappiest Internet Explorers MS ever put out.

Ravinhood,

I hope I never grow out of that feeling. Besides, when I was 10 years old it was my last christmas with my mother, she died of cancer the following spring.

I'm sorry you had rotten luck dished out to you regarding IE7. I swear, if you were in a spacecraft orbitting the Earth in zero-G and command told you that the only way for you to use the toilet was to install the IE7 software you'd probably (if not literally) crap your pants and complain you weren't issued a replacement set of fruit of the loom underwear !! [:D]

All jokes aside ... I agree with you about IE7 ... If Stridor needs signatures for a petition to get this running backwards on your IE6 then write my name down as #2.

I'm with ya bud ... dispite your foul smelling trousers [;)]

Take care,
Rob

Lol. Welp for me the only way I will buy it and recommend it now is if they get it to work with IE 6. I don't know why they would just resort to using something that every household just doesn't have. Do they really think everyone upgrades because MS says to? If that were true we'd all be using VISTA as well and we all know what happened to it. Hopefully Deride won't let me down and fix it up. But, it would seem now that could be a very long time away and by then I might not be as interested. I was soooooo hyped for this release and then to find this out was just like that story I told you. It was like opening a christmas package of fruit of the loom underwear only they were SOILED! ;)

Ravinhood,

Why don't you try upgrading? Honestly, I have had no issues wih IE7, it works better for me than IE6 did.

I already DID Erik you think I would chop IE 7.0 to pieces if I hadn't already tried it. I got it with the AUTO updates from MS. It's a POS, it caused me all kinds of headaches from the moment I started using it. Lockups, Hard crashes, garbled words and that's just a few of them. The main one was with my ISP provider and disconnects galore. I don't have ANY of those issues with IE 6.0

The point here is for a game to REQUIRE any IE to play for that matter is just totally stupid. I've never known of any other game to date that REQUIRED me to have IE any volume to play. First it was this .NET BS and now this. It's always something to HAVE to upgrade or put more crap on my computer. Just not worth it. No game is worth that kind of hassle.

So, bad as I hate to say this it looks like Paradox will get my money now as it was a close tie between Kharkov and EU:ROME. At least they have a DEMO of EU:ROME 324 mbs I downloaded in 24 hours, works like a charm and it doesn't require IE 7.0 to work.

Ok, I have no idea why it would cause that, but I understand why you are reluctant to try it again. Was that when it first came out? (it has been updated a lot since)

In any case, we're discussing internally if we can get the RCG/RBG to work with IE 6. I'll let you all know as soon as we know if that's possible.

The mood is already pretty much killed. But, I'll give this a wait and see. I had my order in to NWS was all excited like a 10 year old a few days before christmas. What a package I got to open before christmas eh? Heck I found out it wasn't even Fruit of the Loom it was Puritan underwear and already used. lol

Ok... I think we've heard that analogy enough. Sorry IE7 is an issue for your system, as I said well see if we can come up with a work-around.

Installing now - download went off without a hitch, no special software required. Took a couple of tries to find a credit card the software liked, and Paypal doesn't like Canadian dollars - was more than willing to pay in US dollars but when you put in a Canadian address, it seems to think you only want to pay in Canadian greenbacks. I found a Visa that worked though.

Oh, I am sure Paradox will enjoy ravinhood's presence on their forum every bit as we have enjoyed having him here. Good luck to them with that.

Who said I was going to Paradox forums? :) I'm just going to buy EU:Rome instead of Kharkov, BUT, I didn't say WHEN now did I? hahahah sukered you in. When it's $5 or less I will buy it. muahahahaha

I still think Kharkov is going to be the better game over CM and SPWAW, its just not going to work for me on my system. Bad luck I guess, bad design decisions as well not making it compatible with several browsers or several IE versions to begin with.
