There's no patterns...

Command Ops: Battles From The Bulge takes the highly acclaimed Airborne Assault engine back to the West Front for the crucial engagements during the Ardennes Offensive. Test your command skills in the fiery crucible of Airborne Assault’s “pausable continuous time” uber-realistic game engine. It's up to you to develop the strategy, issue the orders, set the pace, and try to win the laurels of victory in the cold, shadowy Ardennes.
Command Ops: Highway to the Reich brings us to the setting of one of the most epic and controversial battles of World War II: Operation Market-Garden, covering every major engagement along Hell’s Highway, from the surprise capture of Joe’s Bridge by the Irish Guards a week before the offensive to the final battles on “The Island” south of Arnhem.

like Snow patterns!

I've been tinkering around with getting a good blend of snow and terrain definition and also get rid of those spindly village patterns:

Ooh! I love the sparkly trees. Are they candles or Christmas baubles? [;)]

Exactly my thoughts Ray.
It might be historical though, as the Ardennes provides a lot of Christmas trees. [;)]

@simovitch : very nice, but may I suggest you find a way to tone down the sparkly effect on trees. It is a good idea though.

Cheers,

Maybe use an off white colour for every second "sprinke". That would tone it down a little.

Like I've always said, AA series has some of the best looking maps around.  Problem is those damn estabs cover a lot of their beauty up in certain zoom out aspects where the unit density is greater.

So I've been thinking, why not have an adjustable transparency for the base of the estabs, like when viewing weather radar maps, where the rain patterns are hovering above the geographical locations?  And while you're at it make the mode markers(arrows), like when moving are attacking, retreating etc., point in the direction of the movement.

Looking forward to this game and the next.

SeaMonkey, have you tried the "tilde" key toggle (left of the number 1 on an QWERTY keyboard)? That will make the unit icons smaller. I like your suggestions otherwise...

Anyway, there hasn't been much progress on the snow terrain, but we may be introducing another cool graphic element to the UI. Arjuna will have to give the press release on that.

Guys, the beta testers have been waiting for a new build to test and Arjuna has other business commitments and has been sick as a dog to boot. We will get back into it soon hopefully.
