Infantry Platoon size

Looking quickly through this forum, trying to catch up on what has happened since release, I was surprised to see various instances of infantry platoons containing six or more squads.

From what I can see, this appears to come about in RBGs and RCGs. Someone reported a platoon with nine squads!

AFAIK, Germans generally had no more than four squads up to 1943; then three. As time wore on there were probably less.

Russians, depending on unit type, had between two and four.

Having a larger than historical allocation of squads in a platoon would seem to have the effect of reducing tactical flexibilty, given the platoon orientation of the game.

In the case of the Russians this most likey is to represent an entire company of 9-10 squads. And to represent the lower flexibility.

In the Random Battles, some odd sizes are possible based on what choices the player makes. In general the RBG will not create German platoons of more than five or six squads (less if you don't set it to Maximum Strength). If you keep it at Operational strength, you should see historical German platoon sizes. The Soviet sizes are larger specifically to reflect less flexibility - their "platoons" are often "companies" in reality.
