Random Battle Generator Questions.

1) In the Manual, section on the RBG, it talks about presets, and shows optionsin sample screen for :
Default Russian Combined Arms
Russian Heavy Assault,
Russian Defence
Add/Modify your own in preset.xml

The manual says you can add to them by editing the presets.xml.

When I look at the RBG, the choices I get in the drop down are :

(default) Russian
Soviet Infantry Battalion
Soviet Tank Battalion

when I look at the preset.xml, I see the first presets listed, but not in the RBG.

when I look at the Presets directory, I see the three that show up in the RBG drop down (along with a bunch that look like they are used in the Random Campaign Generator).

So, question is, is there a preset for Russian Heavy Assault, and a Russian Defense, and I reading the manual wrong?

The manual went to print when the RBG details were still being finalized. So it is wrong on this point.

Any preset in the Preset folder which has the tag showinmenu="true" will be available to be used in the RBG for human interaction. The preset directory is full of presets which are used only with random campaigns and so are not set showinmenu true in order to prevent cluttering up the menu.

You are welcome to edit an existing preset under and different name (and id field) to whatever you want. Keep in mind that a new build is coming in which platoon sizes can be defined in the preset with the max attribute, much like how they are in the scenario xmls.

Those were older presets which were removed in favor of the historical ones. Those presets only adjusted the percentages, which I decided is quite easy for the player to do, so I would instead focus on presets that limited the unit mix in historical ways rather than just adjusting the percentages.
