Just curious. Who is your top pilot?
I got two P38J pilots in January 1944 with 20 kills each. Another with 20 has gone MIA. My opponent is very conservative with his ac and tends to avoid fights, so I would imagine some top aces out there. Let us know.

Stock with what patch? Or doesn't the patch matter?

RE: Just curious. Who is your top pilot?
I'm fairly sure I've got some Australian pilots with 20+ kills that were flying P-39's and P-40's before they upgraded to Kittyhawk III's and P-38's. I need to look this evening when I get home and see how they're doing now; one squadron has over 200 kills so far!
RE: Just curious. Who is your top pilot?
CHS, Scen 156 (not nikmod). mid-Fed '43. PBEM vs. Bilbow.
Yes, I have some very experienced bomber crews (and no, not by running supplies!).

I'll also point out that I think it's interesting that I have US pilots with over 100 missions (I thought they got retired after 100 missions?). Frankly, I'm glad they stick around, because returning those pilots to the ether wouldn't do me any good!

Maybe it only effects fighter pilots?

Late April '43. CHS scen 159 (CHS experimental - PBEM vs ChezDaJez, whose top pilots are listed in a post further down):
BTW: Feinder, I agree with you about the high mission numbers. I'd be in sad shape if those guys get to go home. My replacement pilots in the experimental CHS version have been proving to be merely Tony bait...

1LT Andrew seems to have gotten the hang of it ok. He is currently flying a P-40N out of Taipei, November 1943. Recently his score has not improved due to lack of any airborne targets. His FG has an average experience of 93, morale of 86 and a kill total of 231. This is in stock - AAR

this feature was changed with some patch (1.5? 1.7? I don´t know anymore). When there were the problems with PBEMs running out of pilots in the later stages of the game, this was changed and there seems to be a die roll now if the pilot gets rotated out after he has reached 100 missions.
RE: Just curious. Who is your top pilot?
Let's see if I can make this happen...
All my top pilots are IJN flying the A6M3a or A6M2.
What's interesting is that my top Navy pilot only has 87 exp!
Highest IJAAF I have is WO P. Agawa of the 11th Ftr Sentai with 6 kills. He flies the Ki-61-Ib Tony.

RE: Just curious. Who is your top pilot?
Hahahaha... I just checked, my highest scoring USN pilot is Lt E. King (nephew?) of VP-54, with four kills. That's right... a Catalina pilot is my highest scoring Navy pilot!
I have seven carrier pilots with three kills each, and one marine corsair jock with three kills.
A major reason for the high scores for the P38 jocks is that Chez has set up a defensive perimeter where nearly all his bases are too far for my other fighters to reach!
Edit: I just checked VP-54. The squadron has no kills, but Lt King is in the squadron with four kills. He was on the Yorktown before the Battle of Canton Island, so my giess is that his kills came flying F4F-4s in that battle and he was reassigned after the battle. It's a pisser that he was reassigned to a PBY squadron!

I could just imagine his face when he got those orders.

Well, the Yorktown is on the west coast undergoing extensive repair as a result of that battle! (Said battle was four months ago, USN lost South Dakota, Indiana, Hornet and a few DDs - IJN lost Kaga, Hiryu, Haruna and a couple of DDs).
Maybe he volunteered so as to get back into action earler. Made Uncle Ernie proud!!

Wow, Roger....38...that's a goal for everyone to look for...for an individual score that is quite good.

Sing to the tune of "Man on the Flying Trapeze"
..Oh! We fly o'er the treetops with inches to spare,
There's smoke in the cockpit and gray in my hair.
The tracers look fine as a strafin' we go.
But, brother, we're TOO God damn low...
