Guadalcanal scenario
Just for kix i started making a guadalcanal scenario. It will probably be slightly ahistorical, but still. Can be fun. And i think it looks gorgeous. Have started planting some of the japanese forces.

Just kidding. Much appreciated you do a Guadalcanal scenario... I really miss some good pacific scenarios.
/on a side note. I had in my current WaW v27 Axis game partisans arrive on a pacific island... at first I thought they were Chinese partisans of some sorts... turned out they were Italian partisans (under command of Italian Africa HQ). They somehow turned up as partisans in the middle of nowhere, haha.

RE: Guadalcanal scenario
Hey - I can send you my Guadalcanal scenario which I started, but never finished. Will most likely redo it from scratch to get the air and naval action included. I have attached the links I used for the scenario design:

I can of course also share the map and the other files if you want. Here's the link to the post at the forums: tm.asp?m=1665744. Maybe we can join forces with this one?

RE: Guadalcanal scenario
All I did was make a copy of the generic Scout SFType, then attach a different picture. This image came from SPWaW, which is a treasure trove of black and white infantry pictures.
RE: Guadalcanal scenario
I had actually noticed those pictures mysellf and was planning to do something about it. The scenario is only in its early infancy.

Hi widell. U can sure send me your scenario and i will post mine as an attachment here, and then well se what we can do together. Its much easier to cooperate than to do things separatly. Here is what ive done to this date.
I tried to change the pictures on SFTs, but it seems this function is blocked when i use the boardgame masterfile. Dont know why.

RE: Guadalcanal scenario
Sounds good! I attached what I have done so far. Didn't look at this one for at least two months, but I remember starting all over again since I wasn't happy with the OOB's and the map that I found was too boring. Yours look better as it has the smaller islands included as well. Can't remember which masterfile I used as I was playing around with a few, but I seem to recall I started creating specific sftypes for both sides.
One thing I really would like to include is the aspects of the air and naval operations, so I was planning to add more remote bases to the map and use different scales for the hexes to simulate the distances. That way, reinforcements could arrive to be transported in together with supply, and the players would be faced with the Tokyo Express and the other naval action that played a huge role in how the campaign played out.

RE: Guadalcanal scenario
Hi
I looked at your stuff. It looks really nice. Basicly what you have nailed is the SFTs with the pictures. I have a more fun map. But there doesnt seem to be an easy way to combine them. I will play around a little and se if i can change your map.

Here is my latest version. Complete OOB with your SFT types. Looks very nice i think. Still needs a decent victory condition and so on.

Sounds right. I got bored with my map which is why the scenario kind of stalled. If the air and naval parts are not included, the scenario will be like watching paint dry = Booooring. I'd be happy to do some more SFTypes and units if you like. As for the possibilities to combine stuff, it's the biggest limitation of the, otherwise, fantastic editor (Vic, notch, notch.....)
RE: Guadalcanal scenario
Hi Widell, dont know why i never answered you. Its really sad when good work goes unfinished. Unfortunatly i have a tendency to start to make scenarios that i dont finish. If i could just find someone who likes to work with the "grognard parts" who could finish my and put the nicer touches into my groundwork.
So if you are still interested i would very much like it it if you would go over the scenario. Look at the SFT types, units, pictures and so on. Hopefully we could finish it together. Also there is a third guy working with a Guadalcanal scenario. With so much manpower how could things go wrong

Sounds like a good idea! I have been very much off-line during summer as RL issues take over during vacation. However, vacation is over, and the days get shorter [:)].
Let's talk offline and see what we can come up with. Either PM me, or e-mail at robert(at)kodapa(dot)com.
