Hi all,
I've recently bought Panzer command: Kharkov and I've been trying to start a new campaign. I've chosen battle for Mcensk in normal difficulty level. When I have to buy my units, I take both Pzkw 38t and Pzkw IV ausf E but they have something more in the upper right screen: reinforcement turn.
But I don't understand very well what it means. It is written 1 for the 38t and 2 for the pzkw IV. I thought that I would receive reinforcement after turn 1 and 2 but I'm currently in turn 19 and I've still no reinforcement! [:(]
Is it a bug or have I to do something special in order to receive those very useful units? [&:]

Hm - there are two parts to a reinforcement, the turn and the probability. So a reinforcement could arrive as early as Turn 2, but with a very low probability (which could push it out in time). I just checked the scenario and the Panzer 38t platoon has a 20% chance to arrive each turn, the Panzer IV platoon has a 50% chance to arrive each turn. I recall when I played this one arrived right on time and the other a few turns late. Turn 19 seems way beyond normal probability to me. If they really haven't arrived, please e-mail the save file to me at erikr@matrixgames.com and I'll see if I can figure out what's going on.

Hi, I suffered the same fate twice. I played this scenario, my first contact with the game (BTW great game [:D]) first time till turn 15 when I give up, 'cause all my PzIII was burning, and in a second attempt to the end, earning a marginal defeat with my 3 surviving Pz III left without any Ap rounds. No reinforcements, both time ( and perhaps with them, having killed 2 KvI, 2 t34 and immobilized another I woud have some chance to win) . I was wondering that as newby I can't understand something about the mech of the game, but may be it was a bug. Sadly I've not a save game.
I'll retry a third time to see if the path is the same and if I'll send you the save

just a question: how could you destroy those KV-I? I saw them hidden in the forest but I don't know what weapon is able to kill them...
I've already tried with Nebelwerferer but that didn't work. [X(]

If you have a Pz-IV, 75mm HEAT will kill them. I've not done it, but I guess theoretically a 50mm APCR round from short range may do the trick, but I'm not sure I'd want to get that close [;)]

thanks for your answer, but as I stressed before, I don't received the reinforcement so I have to kill 2 KVI with panzer III ausf G! [X(]
Finally I've suffered a marginal defeat after turn 34... I'm going to try another campaign and hope I won't have the same problems...

What helps out in this scenario is that additional 88m flak guns and one 105mm field gun arrive around mid game. So your tanks have some support. You might consider withdrawing to get cover from the these guns. This may bait the T-34s and KVs into chasing them out in the open. Watch the setup screen and mini-map to see where they are to show up.

Ok, I just ran a test with a new Mcensk campaign and got the Stukas on Turn 5 and the Panzer IVEs on Turn 7. Are you all running v1.01h? This appears to just be extremely bad luck, but I'll bump the probabilities up slightly and keep an eye on it.

Hmm actually I don't have installed the ultimate patch because it was a beta.

Out of curiosity, please install v1.01h and give the scenario another try (start the campaign again from the start) as the beta updates fixed some regional issues with v1.00 and I've got a hunch those may be involved in the reinforcement probability handling. Let me know if that changes anything.

By changing the regional settings (from French to American) the bug has disappeared.
I've received Panzer IV at the turn 3 and Panzer 38t at the turn 13. [&o]

Thanks - we found the problem in the meantime and fixed it as well. It was quite a devious little bug and the fix will be in the next update. Thank You for your help in pinpointing this and I'm sorry for the inconvenience it caused you!

you may remember I had a similar issue (no reinforcement coming) in the last bootcamp scenario, and you'll guess what type of keyboard I have! [;)]
Could this bug be also responsible for my gun not showing in game (even though listed at the beginning and the end)?
Anyway, nice to see this one was caught!

Aha! Well, I'm very glad to that we've gotten to the bottom of it now. The official v1.01 release will have this completely fixed.

I could see the infantry gun (supposed to arrive on turn 5) listed in the unit selection and debrief screens, but it never showed up in game. This was tested on several occasions.
