CCMT and SPMBT ?

Post by Adraeth »

I was wondering.... is it possible to make a comparison between CCMT and Steel panthers Main battle tank?

I know the second one is not real time... but there not so many tactical titles for modern combat and both are top down view....

If anyone of you plaied both, what could you say about?

Well, you can download SPMBT for free, so you don't have to worry about that one.

I assume you already have that game.

CCMT plays out completely different than SPMBT, because of being real time.

The first thing is that you get to hand pick/select your squads and vehicles before each scenario. There is a great variety of infantry and motorized/armored units to choose from.

These include units with different morale and experience levels, which gives you a nice, customized control over the difficulty challenge, and lets you customize each scenario to try different ways of winning.

Terrain/line of sight plays a big part in the action, so you'll be challenged to manuever your guys effectively. Being able to `do' damage, while `taking' as little damage as possible, is definitely a primary factor.

This especially goes for motorized units, which can easily become sitting ducks. If you think you're going to win by having some tanks mow everything down, wait until they get hit by anti-tank weapons, then you'll rethink your OOB.

If a squad sits still for too long in the wrong place, they will be hit by mortar or artillery fire soon enough.

The sound effects I would rate as real good. You can see the graphics are cool from the screen shots.

The icing on the cake is that it's easy to create your own scenarios with the built in editor.
