1. Go to yuor WITP folder on your computer.
2. Find the War in the Pacific application icon
3. Right click on that and select 'Create a shortcut'
4. Select the shortcut icon just created
5. Right click on it ans select 'Properties'
6. Click into Target, cursor along to end of command and add -w -altFont -deepcolour
7. Make sure there is a space between the target and the added commands - like this
"C:\War in the Pacific\War in the Pacific.exe" -w -altFont -deepcolour (My target might not be the same as yours as my WITP install is somewhat different to the default install location.)
8. Ok this and run the game from this shortcut. It should run in windowed mode, with a more readable font and a better colour display.
The colour is just to show the bit you need to add - also I run on Vista but from memory the steps should be exactly the same.
Thought I'd just point out a problem I had trying this very thing. I made the mistake of thinking the shortcut the game creates can be modified as instructed above. It does no good until/unless you actualy create another Shortcut first and modify that shortcut.
Just hoping to save the (remaining shreads of) sanity of my fellow newbies.
