What was amazing is that the opposing TFs were facing-off on adjacent hexes!
Yet somehow my planes couldn't find bb's CVs!

aye, we started with a short scenario, but hopefully will upgrade after that into a real big scenario, if joe accepts that.

the fight was intense, my aircraft loses (44 SBD!) are heavy and maybe it was pure luck, that his strike group didnt found my carriers.

or maybe thats because of the golden advice from miller, that putting BBs at the same hex like CVs will attract some planes to attack the BB-TF instead of the flattops. the good old north carolina class can take a huge punishment. its sys-damage is at 26 after several (light) bomb hits and 2 torpedo hits (the first betty torpedo from the second last turn caused no sys-damage and only 5 floating damage!) with no real floating or fires.

edit:

our little game is over now. i won mostly because my strike forces sunk 2-3 carriers and his strike force at the first day of battle concentrated on my BB and did not found my CV-TF.

it was a small enjoyable game with joe and a good "warm up" for THE real game.
