From the legendary team at 2 by 3 Games comes a new grand strategy masterpiece: Gary Grigsby’s War Between the States. Taking gamers back to the American Civil War, this innovative grand strategy game allows players to experience the trials and tribulations of the role of commander-in-chief for either side. Historically accurate, detailed and finely balanced for realistic gameplay, War Between the States is also easy to play and does not take months to finish.

I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed...can someone please tell me what the numbers on white in the vertical bars represent? Also, not sure what the Gray/Blue colors in the bars mean either.

If you're gray, and the bar is mostly blue, you are losing.

Other than that, I have no clue.

The numbers are the unmodified combat value of the forces currently committed to the battle (infantry unit = 8, militia = 6, etc. per the unit data screen).

They are a visual indication of the relative forces involved as shown by the numbers. The higher the number, the higher the bar relative to the other side's bar.
