Being a dyed in the wool CWG (Board ) 'Fatal Alliances' fan I bought 'Guns of August' with more than a hint of trepidation. After I received the game, I was pleasantly suprised by the similarities and entralled by the depth of game play[&o].

Its been well worth the wait, and the game is FANTASTIC!! Well done again Matrix!!![:)]

At the moment I am figuring out the optimum use of resources, and refining my Schifflien plan!!

A great game, and one that brings home the horror & shocking reality of WWI. ( but its fun too!![8|] )

The first release of GoA was pretty buggy. It locked up with the sound option turned on, scrolling had to be done by the arrow keys as the mouse would not always scroll, and others. Then they worked hard on several patches. However, since the patches, I have had a lot of enjoyment with this game. I have been playing it in between the other larger games I have going. It saves anywhere, works great in windowed mode so other apps can be running, and so it makes for an excellent game in the background while working on other things too. [;)]

I just finished a game playing as the Triple Entente on the Normal setting and got a Draw. I thought that was pretty good for the first completed scenario. Now I am working on the second scenario called Stalemate.

This is one game I will always have installed on my PC, as long as PC's are around. [X(] Plus it's the only WW1 game I own.

I didn't know there was a mouse scroll. It doesn't seem to work for me. [&:]
