Serial Number suddenly a problem!

I purchased Matrix Napoleonic Battles and Civil War Battlegrounds a few months ago. All good! Until today....

Now suddenly on startup I get an error message saying 'There is an error with your serial number. Please contact support @ matrixgames.com for assistance'. And I can't play...

What do I do?

Give it another try and if it still dosen't work shoot them an email, they are always very helpful.

So... does this mean then that somehow the serial numbers are actually checked online or something?

No, there is no online check. Have you tried just re-installing?

No, there is no online check. Have you tried just re-installing?

Probably not relevant here, but doesn't Matrix invalidate certain serial numbers known to be pirated as part of their upgrade patches? Seems like I read that somewhere.
