aircraft reconnaissance

Post by damezzi »

I was playing Kasserine some days ago and on turn two had all enemy aircrafts destroyed and wasn't able yet to reach the peaks. That made me wonder that it would be nice to have some way of using those airplanes in reconnaissance missions.
I know that aircrafts are used to define theater reconnaissance capacity, but aircraft should be able to fly specific reconnaissance missions (at least when you have complete - or almost complete - control of the skies) and colaborate to recon with some kind of collateral effect when flying bombardment or combat support missions.
In a reconnaissance mission, chosen hex would have a chance to be spotted and hexes in the way would be observed, depending on weather conditions and terrain.
At the beginning of WWI this was in fact the main task of aviation.

Werd.
To repeat history in a game is to be predictable.
