Manual Question

I just purchased HCE, I am excited to get started.

I am using the manual that came with the game, specifically the quick start section. However it looks like part of the manual is missing? After section 3.5 on page 17, the manual goes to page 18 and section 3.6. However, the screen and sentence at the start of page 18, seems to have "jumped" to the middle of the quick start?

I updated my Adobe Reader, to make sure it was not an Adobe issue. No luck, the manual still seems to be missing a section.

Is there an update/patch for the manual, I am supposed to get?

I think that is the problem of the "reorganization" of the manual. You know, most part of the manual are rewritten on the basis of the Harpoon Classic Manual. So the author of the HCE manual sometimes inevitably select some excerpt from the Classic manual and then put them into the new manual. IMO, this doesn't affect the gameplay. You can easily find the ingame help. What's more, you can download a westpacific workthorugh and even a 40min video in somewhere of harpoonGamer.

Thank you. I will try to find the WestPac walk thru as well.

Once I started the game, and started the Intro Scenario in GIUK, I saw the "quick start" instructions under the Scenario Briefing. This got me started, then the manual picked up at a certain point.

Thanks again for the help. I am enjoying playing Harpoon again after many years away.

Just FYI, but if the "Quick Start" box is enabled, it means that the game will randomly select a scenario from the battleset and you start playing right away. 

If that is what you seek, then it is no problem.  However, if you were planning to scan and select a particular scenario, it is better to ensure that the box is not checked off.
