Can you play a grand game with all theaters represented of WW2 at once in this game?
Life is tough. The sooner you realize that, the easier it will be.

You could -- if you just called 50 km hexes 700 km hexes and week long turns 1/2 day turns or something.

For his own amusement, Ben Turner/Golden Delicious once did a scenario of the Eastern Front along these lines. Each unit was an army group, and the map was ten hexes wide or something. It actually worked pretty well.

There were a couple of such scenario that had been created for the original TOAW I. I can't vouch for them, though.

It's really a long haul for TOAW
Some efforts were made to try it, like this one

It's for COW, so it'll have to be converted to TOAWIII

'Some efforts were made to try it, like this one '

There's alot of room in the oob and event list in this one. Maybe Gary Skaar wouldn't mind if we tinkered around with it one day?

I would think it best to make three versions, Elmer vs. Axis, Elmer vs. Allies, and a Pbem. That would allow each version to make maximum use of the oob and event list.

I believe this is the microscreen of the Skaar version.

Here's another version made by an unknown designer. The map is still pretty crude, but better than the Skaar one, I think. Also, this one has 2838 units vs. the Skaar version's 1416. This, for sure was made for TOAW I and never updated. I doubt that the Skaar one was either. Probably some admirer converted it to COW.

A planet-sized scenario would have some major issues with supply point and objective placement...

Would love to see a planet wide scenario/map. Instead of using the traditional hex based system, why not base the map on the Buckyball concept. It would be a large Buckyball, but using equal distant “carbon molecule spots” rather than hexes would solve the distortion problems involved with hexes.

Whatever site it was it's long gone, for sure. It was back in the TOAW I days. I'm probably the only packrat still clinging to a copy for no good reason. (Although I seem to recall sending a copy to Mantis long ago - he was looking for such). It's 300K, so I can't post it here. Email? Personally, I think you're better off starting from scratch - neither map is usable - but perhaps some info can be gleaned from it.

Well, army unit scale. Bob Cross' Soviet Union 1941 is not actually that different in scale, but he put about 100 times more work into it and it is probably the most realistic scenario covering that campaign.

Why not use the vector system such as in CotA etc.? Probably easier than devising a whole new system and at least as accurate.
