A troubled first try

Was contacted by Prince Corrin for a duel tonight, and after five minutes of setting up Battle W, and one one minute of play, I was disconnected.

Could this be because I have a 56k connection, a pentium 155mgz, or was it pure, blind, dumb, bad luck?

Sounds like pure bad luck to me. I've played people with 56k modems before, and not had any trouble (save their extreme slowness. <img src="smile.gif" border="0"> )

I've played all my battles with an old 14.4k modem and in no case experienced problems due to its low speed.
I still use this for all my connections, even for downloading and only this task requires some patience... <img src="wink.gif" border="0">

P.S. Please don't tell me I should upgrade my hardware. I'm planning to do so since several months, but had to care for more important things all the time <img src="frown.gif" border="0">

BTW, my modem is a 56k software that came with computer. But I have fiber optic phone lines (only state that has them I think) so that kicks my connection up to 115k <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0">

There are FO lines here as well, but the communications company told me that this will most possibly cause a longer delivery time for my desired DSL. Oh well, I'll have to wait.
