Help! Cant view root directory in Explorer?!

Post by Landser44 »

Can anybody help me?

I am a new modder trying to take a look at the files for the CS games to familliarize myself with what is where, and whenever I attempt to view the main folder for EF, WF, or RS (viewing "thumbnails" of the files), it crashes windows explorer!! It says "Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close" and has the error report option to Microsoft. It happens without fail, every time within ten seconds. What the heck!?!?! Is some file attribute causing a poblem or something?

Anybody have any idea what might me happening? If I cant see the contents of the folder, I can't make mods.

There are hundreds and hundreds of files in these folders.

Instead, I may recommend viewing by "Details". If you are interested in seeing what is there, right click on a BMP and use Windows Viewer to go through the images.

Might make things easier.
