Funny Stats

Post by grandmarquis84 »

I simmed a season for a league I'm going to start as a test and all of the QB's had terrible Touchdown to Interception ratios and the runningback yards made me think that it was impossible that anyone could have ever scored.
Is this a problem that occurs when the games are quick simmed and are not allowed to play through?

How many minute quarters did you use?
Simmed games are not representative of what you will see on the field.

Used 15 min quarters and after a 6 game season I had quarter backs with 8 TD and 18 INT.  Should I do non quick sims and shorter quarters for indoor play?

For actual league play, I would not use the sim engine. It honestly is pointless to even do playbooks if you use the sim engine.

I would go with played out games and maybe 7min quarters. Indoor football is a back and forth scorefest, so whether you go with 15min or less, it will still be a lot of TDs and FGs. In my solo leagues at home, I use 5min quarters and usually get scores like 32-27 and so on. Average per game yards passing hovers around 100/150 and rushing 60/80. Sometimes lower.
However, I have been using 7min quarters recently and here is a sample box score. Understand though, that the playbook is all custom and is a bit weighted to pass defense. So the stats are a bit lower than normal.

And as for playing games out, the games go quick because the clock usually is running in indoor football, so my games take about 30min to play out. A six team league can be done in an hour and a half.

I did sim one live but the stats made the offenses look like they were being played by small girls.  The completion percentage was a little over 10% and the scores were anemic 18-2. Is there a certain playbook I should use or certain settings I should change?

I sent you my playbook. Assign it to your teams and see how the games play.

The default playbook hasnt been updated in a long time, so I wouldnt use it.
