Purchasing Advice/Matrix Games

Post by tem316 »

Help!
After years of Tactical Simulation Games, I am ready to move to Operational or Grand Simulation. The reviews on this subject are hard to find. Have cut my teeth on Talon Soft's Civil War series games, so naturally I seek advice on the 3 games offered by Matrix. All seem to have nice features, but how do you the readers feel?

I recently talked with an employee at a local computer store that tells me Commander:War in Europe is the way to go. See my dilemma!!

Can anyone give me some personal reviews or help? two other factors that come into play...can only buy one to start with, and have to play more solitare against Computer AI because of work/travel. Any and all advice welcome.
Thanks

Advanced Tactics seems to get a lot of votes.

Alot depends on your interest. ACW? WWII? Modern?
Conflict of Heroes "Most games are like checkers or chess and some have dice and cards involved too. This game plays like checkers but you think like chess and the dice and cards can change everything in real time."
