Indirect fire Artillery problem

Post by delusan »

The artillery (indirect fire) menu refuses to respond to any input. The game appears to be running fine otherwise. Im following the artillery tutorial, and I get to the point where the select target reticle shows, but when I click on a hex to set the target point, I dont get the targeted symbol. I cant even exit the menu with clicks on the exit arrow, only by using the ESC key.

Im using vista home premium 32-bit.

If Im running true to form, Im just doing something mentally dull. Can anyone help? (With the game, not my dullness.)

Thanks for the reply Osprey.  Clicking many, many times still does not do it.  Anyone else have this problem?

I've not had problems as severe as that, delusan...at worst I sometimes have to press the button a few times to get it to target a hex. You may want to head over to the SP:WaW Depot...they're totally affiliated with MAtrix Games, and responses to technical issues are usually very fast over there.

You may have C & C on ????

If above no fix try going to "Steel.prf" in Save file and deleting, game will re write same .

Here's something to try that works with WinXP (don't know if it runs in :choke: Vista)... a tiny program named "cpugrab", it's free, search for it on the web.  It might help by slowing down the cpu.
Reduce SP:WaW slaughter, "Low Carnage":

Thanks again guys, but none of the above have any noticeable effect. I find that sometimes, if i click in rapid succession on adjacent battery selection buttons, I can get a target symbol to appear on the map - after that the artillery fires normally. This isnt of much use because sometimes its the not the battery that I want to fire that is selected (its the one Im using for the alternate rapid clicks). Same thing occurs with the other menu buttons - all buttons change color during a mouse-over, but dont respond when clicked. Very frustrating.
