Transported air units fly CAP?

Gary Grigsby’s World at War is back with a whole new set of features. World at War: A World Divided still gives complete control over the production, research and military strategy for your side, but in this new updated version you’ll also be able to bring spies into the mix as well as neutral country diplomacy, variable political events and much more. Perhaps the largest item is the ability to play a special Soviet vs. Allies scenario that occurs after the end of World War II.

Transported air units fly CAP?

Post by runyan99 »

If an air unit using strategic movement ends it's movement on a transport, does the air unit still fly CAP and participate in combat?

If so, this essentially makes transports the equivalent of stationary aircraft carriers! Since the air unit won't return to base, this also saves supply that would otherwise be used in tactical movement to fly CAP.

As far as I know the the air unit does not fly cap it's inside the TF and if the TF gets damaged/sunk so does the air unit so beware those TF containing air units would be a juicy target.

Yes I tested this today and you are right, the fighter did not participate in combat.
