Northern Response (REKM45) aka rekm41 here

Post by Rekm41 »

I too will begin an AAR in response to the upstart nation known as the Confederate States of America. I would ask that Anthopoid stay out of any future posts in this forum. I may repeat the AAR over at www.theblitz.org but will have to see how much time I have to do so.

As Anthropoid already realized that I have pulled back to Maryland as my Union armies are not prepared (Yet) to meet the Rebels on the field of battle.

Keep posted. A true Northener (Canadian Eh!)

HiHi

Good work Ron.

I may repeat the AAR over at www.theblitz.org but will have to see how much time I have to do so.

Ron an easy way to save time and post on both; do your report in Word first as you will probably get ‘Timed out’ while thinking etc here (and save it by turn No for future reference) then C&P to both boards, you will have to do some minor format adjustments.

As I mentioned to Anthropoid it would be good to have other AARs at the Blitz to act as counterpoint in both style & thoughts re running the war to the posts already up; he may already have mentioned this but if you haven’t already seen it go looksee at my post there, its as much how FoF the game is played as an AAR, you may even get one of those “####! THATS what it’s for” moments [:)]

Good luck and a belated welcome to the Blitz.

All the Best
Peter

Late July 1861

Ok so late July 1861 passes with my Union army marching out of Fredericksburg across the Potomac. Well in truth as they were leaving they were attacked by the Rebel army which the South won.

The rest of the turn was spent moving my forces here and there to reorganize them into a semblance of order. As I am a newbie there were a few things I missed. But as it is early enough in the game I am sure I will get that learning curve to the point where I am on top of it.

I did however manage to capture a small province out in Missouri called Black River which is causing some unrest with the locals.

I have ordered a couple horse farms and some voluntary musters in states that support them to a high enough degree that I felt safe to order them up.
