new hosts

Post by borner »

I am in two games where the host had to resign. How do we select a new host for the game without having to re-start? thanks!

Only the host can do this, so you need him or his save files. He can change players in the game using the admin menu and can also change roles for nations.

So using the host's copy of the game you would -
1. Go into the admin menu
2. Click on the current host and change him to email client. You can also change player information at this point if you are replacing him.
3. Click on the new host and change him to email host.
4. Click on the bottom right button to create backups with the new roles to send to everyone.

Hope that helps.

So you can change the host at anytime? The host doesn't have to be the player playing the host's country?

Yes you can change the host anytime, although the host has to make the change.

I'm a little unclear about your second question. Do you mean that if the host is playing Spain then Spain has to be the host for the whole game ? No the host nation can change, it's not a problem. It's perfectly possible for the host to change without any of the players changing.

Thanks. You answered my questions.

BORNER: This essentially means that we don't need a replacement host so much as just replacement players, meaning that someone already in the game and familiar with the game/players can be the host.
