New version of 1.24 Public Beta Uploaded

Post by Greg Wilcox »

A new version of the 1.24 Update is now available as a Public Beta via our Members Club. While we do final testing we figured we'd offer you a change to get it early as well. This is still a beta, but it's stable and solid as far as we can tell. Barring any major issues being found, this will become the official update.

You can download this as a Registered Download as long as you have registered your Guns of August serial number in our Members Club (click on the MEMBERS link in the top nav bar).

Change list for 1.24
Features
1. More options for transfers allowed such as France now able to transfer food and material to Britain
2. Limited stacking in Alps
3. Removed the ability to invade New York and Halifax

Fixes
1. Fixed - Now should not be able to use amphibious movement in a contested sea zone (Shipping is allowed)
2. Fixed - Late game builds not always showing up
3. Fixed - UBs on unrestricted warfare were not finding shipping (they were, but.. is the short answer)
4. Fixed - Can't move supplies to Russia through the Black Sea because Constantinople remained under CP control
5. Fixed - Brits were able to select the ports of conquered nations like France to amphib to
6. Fixed - Ships shouldn't leave Constantinople for the Eastern Med and be intercepted in the Black Sea
7. Tried to make "Return to Port" naval mission smoother
8. Rail movement issues. Fixed a small bug but may have made this even more complex as now when you click on a British unit in France (for example) you will see French rail capacity, not British.
9. Fixed - Problem of units sometimes showing up in bizarre locations when the city they were supposed to enter at was unavailable.
10. Russians should be able to sail out of the Black Sea once the Turks are defeated.
11. Fixed - Italian forts being zeroed when Italy enters the war.
12. Withdrawals from a hex are now allowed even when that hex is attacked
13. Fixed – Error with screen resolution selection

#8 -- it's the owner of the hex that determines the rail movement allowance, isn't it?

Will the rail points be split. Say I move a unit from Berlin to Budapest. Will Germany eat the rail points in Germany and the Austrians in Austria or does it depend on the ending hex?

It depends on the starting hex.

British troops in France use French rail points. A unit moving from Berlin to Budapest would use German rail points.

Any changes from the last Beta except for stacking in mountains?

(And if it is not to personal a question do you ever PBM the game yourself?)

Just 4 things. Stacking in the Alps. The selection of screen resolutions. Not allowing amphibious invasions of New Yorkl and Halifax and I'm pretty sure, fixing British rail movement in France.

I PBM against myself quite a bit while testing but haven't played anyone else.
