JD editor requests

Post by simmer »

Two questions for JD?????????

JD, can you tell me if you can include a delete game option in your editor.

Is there a way that an option can be added to pick a teams uniform that a team will use (ex. away alternate) in a viewing window when looking at the matchups on the schedule. This will then be used in a league game.

If you mean within the schedule, that is the plan. Adding/Deleting/changing Results of games is all in the plan. But, the Schedule Editor is very close to the last thing I intend to add.

I'm not 100% sure of what you are asking here.... elaborate more for me. If it's something just to be viewed within my editor, probably. Setting it for the game, I'm not so sure about.

He might mean he would like a way to change around uniform folders, so the Home or away team could use a 'Throwback' uni for a game, or some sort of different uni instead of the norm.

A screen that shows all the uniform folders in a teams folder. Select one and have it changed to home for instance, and the actual home folder would then be changed to backup_home. Or something like that. It would save guys having to do the copy/paste thing just to use a special uniform for one game.

Hi, JD glad to see your back.

Could you put a function in the global editor that would allow the user to correct the jersey numbers of players so that they fit a certain league? For example in the NFL most DL's wear numbers in the 90's but in the game they wear numbers in the 70's.

Maybe you could have numbering templates for different leagues CFL, NFL, College football AFL... and so forth. Then when a new rookie class is created the user could just select which jersey numbering template to use.

What I can do is just add an option to randomly set jersey numbers based on position, and the user can set the range they want to use.

It would have been great if the database allowed each game in the schedule to have a scheduled time and the uniforms to be used for each team.

I was hoping those type of things would go into 3.0, but we'll just have to do.

Well, if I'm not mistaken, the database can definitely be edited to contain this information if for no other reason to allow leagues to print out information like that. Now, having it in the database and having the game read that information are obviously two different things.
