HMS Victorious

I am curious if AE is able to model the multiple deployments of HMS Victorious, the first one with the USN, using USN aircraft, and the second in 1944 with the Far Eastern Fleet, with RN aircraft. Pretty tall order, and not a game-breaker, but I wonder if that was somehow worked in.

I understand RN withdrawls are completely revamped, such that you pretty much HAVE to withdraw those ships.

Probably not. Getting the ship onto and off the map is no problem, but changing the air group would be more complicated.

Using the Unit withdrawal system
 
Have air units which must withdraw at the same time as the CV coded to withdraw at the same time. (Off the Carrier)
 
Code new units with alternate aircraft to arrive with the new deployments (Back onto the carrier)
 
Repeat as required.

If not different A/C loadouts, is it possible to manage the two deployments?

And if not, what was the compromise, deploy her in IO in early '43 and leave it at that?

What is stopping you from putting US Navy planes on her as it is? The reason she was "loaned" to the US Navy was that we had a lot of sunk and damaged carriers. Sunk and damaged carriers mean there are Navy pilots sitting around with nothing to do (unless of course you got them all sunk far enough away from a friendly land base).

AE doesnt have magical re-spawning ships either BTW.

IRL she stopped at CONUS first and took on American made planes to be sure of parts availability before going to Noumea. They were not the type ordered by the Brits, just re-painted in their colours.

When she was operating as USS Robin in tandem with the Saratoga they also experimented with a strange setup where one of the carriers had all fighters and the other had the bombers...

Victorious had all fighter force because of superior british fighter control. Saratoga had bombers + fighters to escort them because of larger strikes she can launch.
