war with a minor after peace?

Post by polarole »

hi,

i have a rules question:

if one nation A has declared war on a minor and that minor gets controlled by another nation B and nations A and B are at war themselves. what happens to the minors if nation A sue for peace with nation B but still has corps within the minor that the war was declared upon?
does that minor automaticaly become a freestate of nation B or will the war between nation A and that minor still be in place after peace between A and B?

thanks and bye

There is no war between A and the minor if A and B are at war. It is simply another controlled free state of major B, who is at war with A.

That is the simplest way to think about it. It's not technically correct, though, but it describes the essence at a high level. TECHNICALLY, when A and B go to war, each controlled minor is also at war with the other major. So, it's like dozens of wars. But, they all end when the majors declare peace (via whatever means). So, if you are halfway through conquering the minor, and you get peace with the controlling major, then the only way to get that minor is as a peace condition.
