Load/unload problems.

Post by hbrsvl »

Hi-Playing Allies, scen.13, early 8/43. Something strange is going on. At Bonin, Kadena & Taipei, when I click on a transport TF, the load, unload areas are greyed out. At Iwo & Naha I can load/unload .

Bonin & Kadena have no port damage & are size 4 ports. Taipei has port damage of 78 & is size 2. I just took Taipei 2 turns ago. It has a CB unit partially unloaded but no repairs have been done.

At Taipei I formed a new transport TF, transferred loaded ships into it (under 25 ships) but still had the greyed out area.

Suggestions, anyone?

Thanks, Hugh Browne

Mynok-Yes, divisions, RCTs, Eng. to load at Bonin & Kadena. Armor, Inf & Eng. to unload at Taipei.

Are they docked? They have to be docked.

Mynok-Yes, all are docked. Also, in each port, the "load supplies" is operable.

Are the units in a restricted command?

Mike-Yes and no. I'm trying to load an atry unit(CenPac) at Bonin(CentPac.) Also trying to load CentPac units at Kadina(SWPac.).

But, I don't believe that's the issue. To me the issue is that the individual ships in the TF have everything below "load supplies" greyed out. Also, at Taipei I'm trying to unload.

I've never had a problem of loading or unloading SWPac, CentPac or SoPac units at each other's bases.

Am I missing something here?

Thanks, HB

The commands HB cited are not restricted, so that is not the issue.

I have poked about a bit to try to recreate the problem.  The only way I can "grey out" the load and unload commands is to change to type of TF.  Based on your posts, that can't be the problem, but, other than that, I'm stumped.

Must be the TF mission type. What are you setting it to?

Mynok-Set to Transport. I also tried setting it to Escort, then changing to Transport. Same results.

As a REALLY long shot, on this same computer, I've been trying to install CHS. Is there any way something in there could be affecting this game?

I sure don't know the answer, but your statement that you're "trying to install CHS" implies that there have been problems with installing CHS.  Exactly how that might cause your current issue is the question, but once things go wrong during installation, all bets are off.

Are we talking about complete units or just fragments?

Some fragments may require big capacity. In RHS for instance radar installations of a BF require an AK with at least 5000 load capacity, IIRC.
If you gained knowledge through the forum, why not putting it into the AE wiki?

Hmm....in the same install directory? If you got a partial install, it's possible your database is corrupt and it doesn't think that ship type is actually an AK/AP.

I would copy your save game elsewhere, uninstall Witp and start fresh.
