Is this like a strategic/operational game where, instead of rolling out a combat in a zone, you jump to some tactical map and fight out the battle in detail?

Then go back to the strategic map again?

Do you essentially play out the entire battle from an Army Commander level, except for the combat resolution?

WaR is  essentially a Tactical game and it is here where you will feel the greatest pain and greatest exhiliration , although there are devotees who would turn that on it's head.

CC: WaR has the biggest most expansive Strategic module of the entire CC series.

The Strategic level revolves principally around movement and maintaining supply... no force building or crop growing etc.
