AAR for HARD Sarge
okay same deal with me as for Tanker
we are not allowed to read the other posts, until after the game, or we crash out (Hmmm, i still have not checked out Speedys AAR)
overall, we looking for issues we knew about, to see if they are still there, or see if we can find any new ones, what shut me and Speedy down in the last one, should be corrected now
still got a scoreing issue (minor)
let the battle begin, I have gotten his turn and have sent back mine

RE: AAR for HARD Sarge
in case you don't know, in BoB the idea is to knock out the RAF, in BoB41, the idea is to take out the English Production, which you still get points for planes lost, the main points are in take out the factories
this is mainly a run for the PBEM system, the last two, we had some issues when Speedy and I were running them, I think we have gotten those fixed
so we are going with the 7 day, 41 campaign, it is long enough to see it works, but short enough so, if anything found it can be worked on and not interfer with the AAR

RE: AAR for HARD Sarge
Harley is working on 2 exploits we have found, so I will not be using anything close to those until Harley works his magic
I would think that Tanker may of read some of my last AAR, so, will just try to mess with his head the first turn, and to test him out, to see how he reacts (I was surprised with Speedy, he tended to back off and pull back)
soooo, I plan on working over 10 group area first, not sure if Tanker is going to be expecting what the LW having droptanks does to target areas, and while that is going on, I will be hitting the coast with 12 group, plane on staying away from 11 group all togeather for the first day (I will still be getting into fights with them, but not the way he should be expecting)
of course, you can look at this like a prise fighter, show something you don't plan on using, show your chin, but don't show it again

and just in case, I broke my rules to see if Tanker posted what he thought was wrong, which he didn't, so now have to wait on him to get back online so I can try and get this up and running
we may need to do a restart

RE: AAR for HARD Sarge
well, needless to say, a glitch came up, not sure if it is a game glitch, a player glitch, a email glitch, or just a oddity glitch
so, we have now restarted another restart (along with getting Shaggy and Swift to work on one of there own on the side)

RE: AAR for HARD Sarge
opening moves for the LW start on 3/31/41 a night turn, before the day the battle begins
I move one of my JG's closer to the front, they have older models of the 109 and so no drop tanks, I will lose the use of them on the opening rounds, but they will be in better placement for the next day
plus, would be nice if my enemy, believes I went all out on the first day, when I held back a good part of my forces (when the raids start to show up, it is going to look like everything but the sink is being thrown at him as it is)
during the day, the It's, my good bombers, some of my KGr's and my forces in Norway are on rest, along with my ground attack, my 110s (both attack and fighter) and a few odd Gruppen of 109s
the KGrs and Norway will go to work during the night
here are the plots for the day time (along with some of the Inturder missions)
what I am trying, is to flood one part of the battle field, then slip in a couple AF raids in, when the RAF should be landing, refueling
but, the hassle with this plan, is it is 1941, the RAF has more and it is all over, and I am going after the middle of his defences, so 10-11 and 12 group can all be used to respond, or even worse, he may be able to respond, with out use the main part of his defence, and still have them around, to use on my sneaks
as I said before, I need to learn how Tanker thinks and reacts

RE: AAR for HARD Sarge
not bad, a good test run, found a bug, found a glitch or two, and some things I want to touch up
Tanker was a little slow on reacting, or, waiting a little too long to try and figure out what I was doing (in BTR, you have more time to react, or to wait to see what is happening, in BoB, things happen fast)
so my sneak raids really ended up being the main battle raids, while my battle fleets, ended up being milk runs
(all that may change, now that he sees what happens)
okay here is the raid report, it shows what I flew to and what damage I did, overall, not a bad day of bombing

RE: AAR for HARD Sarge
from the target list, looks like I did good vs Ports and CFAC, so may as well, work them over
so here is a list of the Ports
and I see I got a few with in close range, so will work them over

of course, not too sure how much shipping would be going on, with the channel ports, but...
the other target will be CFAC's, and again, got some close, so they will be the 2nd part of the targets

of course in the long run, CFAC if knocked out, will stop parts for the building of Aircraft, but, if I knock them out, the production will just be moved to new factories (with a delay)

RE: AAR for HARD Sarge
but, the big hassle pops up , got lousy weather, not really bad, but not good and clouds cover the coast early in the morning
so while I really wanted to go whole hog today, I will plot some raids, just to keep my foe honest, weather too good to call it a day, but good enough to waste all of my forces, so my good bombers still stay on the ground
and no night raids this time around (really, Terror is not a goal for this battle, and night and small targets do not really go together, I mean, I missed a City last night !!!!
so my plots for the day, I am hoping the clouds move away mid morning, so plot that way, but think the coast will be clear more towards Holland, so will start off earlier, make the controller boys do there job, they should be getting lots and lots of radar contacts today

RE: AAR for HARD Sarge
which bear in mind, I am going with the idea that Tanker will be slow to react, so have my timing set up, with the idea of raids to make him think about getting up into the air, and then when he does, other targets will be there for him, so this time, it is the 2nd wave that is set up to fight
the whole trouble with this is, weather, one of my raids is delayed, and the whole timing of what is going on, is thrown off
on the other side, first raid is very short ranged, so should get up, and hit and get back, before any of his main force can get there, the next raid should be taking off, when they need to land and refuel, they should be fueled and getting back into the air, once I am on my way back home (of course, he has a lot of squadrons, so will have others to use, but shouldn't be able to use pure mass), and then the 3rd and 4th raid come in, 4th raid is a trap, but all depends on timing

RE: AAR for HARD Sarge
really, sort of a peaceful first day, even more so, when you think almost 2000 LW and 850 RAF planes were in the air

now for the pilots
I know the RAF had a number of guys get at least 2 kills (thought I seen at least 5 of them !)

Sarge i see the ports but i don't see any ships on the map...troop transports, carriers, submarines (as tgt of opportunity), torpedo boats, destroyers? Nothing?
How long will you pretend you can't do anything about it? Support www.animalsasia.org

No, no ships/shipping, that battle was already finished when this one starts
but scale of game is more based on hitting the targets, not on going after shipping
(engine really is not up to it, maybe a rebuild with the WitP type engine would of been able to, but that wasn't the plan)
