Creating House Rules in MWIF

World in Flames is the computer version of Australian Design Group classic board game. World In Flames is a highly detailed game covering the both Europe and Pacific Theaters of Operations during World War II. If you want grand strategy this game is for you.

Creating House Rules in MWIF

Post by wfzimmerman »

The key is that because the program will enforce RAW mechanics without exception, all house rules must either involve:

1) changes to the units files without adding new unit types.
2) choice by the player to abstain or carry out a particular act.

This does not make it impossible to create house rules to achieve objectives in realism, enjoyability, or play balance. It simply means that there is a smaller toolkit for house rules than when playing face to face. But that toolkit can still be used with ingenuity.

For example, in another thread I suggest creating an MTB/MGB house rule by creating flying boat NAV air counters to carry out the role of MTBs & MGBs.
