very nice old coach . I was wondering what type of scores our you getting with your 40`s era teams . Also how about QB STATS . Played 2 games , of all american league i made .One game i used what comp made for player attribute s which were lower then your 1948 leagues players . That game went 21 to 0 , Quaterbacks threw more then team ran. iTHINK QB`S WERE about 25 percent passing . Then i made players attributes more like your league . QB still threw alot . Comp percetage was almost same , but lot more yardage . Anyway was wondering what you do .

Here are game stats from 2 different leagues- 1940 College & 1948 NFL. Both leagues use the same playbooks- single wing, Notre Dame Box, Fullhouse T, etc. I play 12 minute quarters so that is reflected in the total number of plays run/game. QB's in the college league are assigned lower pass strength and pass accuracy values than those in the 1948 pro league. I think passing % and yardage is realistically represented in both leagues. However, one concern I have with my 1948 NFL is the high number of interceptions. I may have the DB's catch ratings too high. I'll adjust those when I cycle back around to playing games with that league. QB's in 1940 College typically have Pass STR and Pass ACC ratings ranging from 73 to 80. QB's in the 1948 NFL have the same ratings ranging from 77 to 85. For example in the college league I have my best passing QB, Harry Gilmore of Alabama, with ratings of 80 & 80 for PSTR and PACC. Whereas Sammy Baugh of the 1948 Washington Redskins has ratings of 85 and 85.

old coach Do you ply the games or sim , or let comp play it self. Also do you think if the QB RATING IS HIGHdo you think QBS PASS more. My qb have usually both strengh and acc in 80 to 88 range. I also let the comp play itself . I just started making in your play books situations in profiles for offence .I`m hoping if i have playbook run a lot it might carry over to games. I`m hoping that might help.,

I don't allow the computer to play with itself (that doesn't sound right does it?). I play either against the computer or against a relative or friend. Often, I'll play both teams, with me calling the plays for both and using a base defense for both. My son who is a high school head coach really likes to play the game when he visits. He especially likes to play Canadian rules because it's bombs away. When he's actually coaching his team, he's a mash mouth coach like I am. If you'd like I can post one or 2 of my team lineups on FBMAX so you can see how I assign ratings.
