Will this game go on sale?

Post by jatutt »

I noticed last year about this time the company offered a discount of 25% for the game. Are they considering doing this again?

Thanks,

(It's a question for Matrix, to which I don't know the answer. Sorry. I don't want to appear to be ignoring you. I guess we'll all be wiser at some point.)

Since the game has improved so much thanks to our big feature patches, and will be improving further with the release of our next one sometime soon (shouldn't be too long now), one might argue that the game is worth more now than it was two years ago!

It doesn't make any sense, Admiral. Were we better than the Japanese or just luckier?

Great news.

This seems like as good a place as any to point out to new players that there have been plenty of changes that you can read about in the patch documentation, not least of which are numerous changes to unit costs, effects of building developments, ranges of guns, etc. For the upcoming patch I am currently working on an updated series of tables that will have the correct data. (The data are currently available in the tooltips and other areas of the game, but the manual's appendix has the obsolete info. So, that's something to be aware of.)

In a few posts back you mentioned mentioned an updated release. Will there be a re-release of the updated version, or were you simply refering to the upcoming patch?

I'm not sure which post you have in mind, but it was probably a reference to the upcoming patch.

For those who are buying the game now, I should note that the version on sale is fully patched up, so you can start playing right away. (Look for the patch documentation, though, so that you'll know what's changed since the manual!)
