Transporting non-lend corps

Post by bresh »

It is currently "1.04" patch possible to load and unload allied corps who are not lend to the controller of the fleet. This appears to be a Bug. You should only be able to carry "controlled-corps".

This opens up some abuses like when someone loads corps of a MP, and later unloads who land-moves before/after the Fleet-controlling MP.

Like if Spain loads Turkish corps, then when they land they dont need to forage or pay supply. Since its already past Turkish land phase.

Im guessing if it was Spainish corps transported by Turkish controlled fleets, the unloaded corps in Turkish land phase, can move inland in the Spanish land phase...

Hm.  I can see fleets picking up allied corps, but they should have to disembark in their own land phase, and theoretically the owner of the corps should have some say where the fleets go.  It'd be a bit ugly and wildly unrealistic if a Spain nominally allied to France was bribed by GB to pick up French corps and leaders, and dump 'em in the ocean.

I think your solution can be abused to.
But i belive you should not be able to transport "uncontrolled" corps with your "controlled" navy.

Speaking EiA, you could transport corps without having combined movement. Why should the equivalent - lending of corps - be nessecary in EiANW ??

If I load an allys non lend corps in my naval phase, i can "disembark" them in my land phase, without them having to pay supply or them foraging since its not their phase, so no risk. Further this allows the corps who just landed to walk inland in their own land phase if they move later.
My suggestion is you should only be able to transport lend fleets is that, my guess is its easier to code, than changing the code for disembarking "allowing to disembark corps from non controlled allied fleets".

It looks as if you can transport allied forces but this looks to have been the case for along time???
I will change this...
