Hired Guns: The Jagged Edge is a turn-based strategy that puts you command of a squad of specialists for hire in the genre’s biggest game-world yet: the African country Diamond Coast. Diamond Coast is a playground for the cruel and corrupt, each with their own agenda. Choose your friends wisely and buy an army of ruthless mercenaries to unleash mayhem on your foes. Choose “jobs” from different factions and complete them for cash to upgrade your weapons and hire more elite soldiers of fortune.

Can we please at least get an update? Last I heard Erik said the likelihood was extremely high to be released today. Looks like it won't be today now. And a couple people have asked what the price point will be, with no response. Will it be same as retail?

Thanks!

Seriously. You guys are a not so funny joke. You give your customers vague sporadic updates and arbitrary release dates.

All because you're contractually obliged not to sell a product your customers are waiting for. More the fool you for entering into a lopsided and absurd agreement. The retailer in question should be more concerned with not getting it after other "retailers" with whom they compete with directly. Someone who wants to order online will order ONLINE, this is painfully obvious from the posts of your customers who are WAITING for you to release it.

Furthermore, why the hell would you restrict your sales of such a niche product where any sales including international sales are vital. Is your US retailer competing for the business of a customer in Europe? No. I think not.

Apparently your agreement has nothing to do with your ship date and everything to do with your retailers shelf date. What if they decide to wait another week before stocking the item? Are you still going to wait?

At this rate its going to be leaked illegally on the Internet before it's available to buy online.

You represent a classic example of how to eliminate good will for a niche product with a loyal fanbase where every sale will count. You're not holding onto Fallout 3 here guys, wake up.

Kinoku,

I think that's an almost entirely negative interpretation of the situation.

I've been posting daily to update folks on status and I said that we were pretty much a guarantee to release this week, just not sure of the day. I don't see how narrowing things down to "definitely this week" is really too vague.

In any case, as I just posted in two other threads, we have received a green light for release tomorrow afternoon/evening. So please check back then and you should see Hired Guns available for sale in our store!

Thanks to everyone for your ongoing patience and understanding.

Regards,

- Erik

Thank you very much Erik. I appreciate your kind demeanor and dedication to the forums in the face of all us impatient gamers.

Here's hoping the game is GOOD!!!!

It's hard not to be impatient when I spend over an hour to download it and then try installing it on two OS's and find out the file inside the archive is NFG. Should have just gone to Futureshop and bought it.

You are past the allotted time limit. Wait until the boys on Usenet hear about this fiasco, they will have a lynch mob together in no time.

Ok, I've just been informed that the new download file, using the "confirmed good" one we uploaded, is now in the online store to replace the original file. This one worked for store support, so it looks like it made it through the download process just fine. I'm doing a test download myself now from the store, but wanted to let you know that the problem _should_ be solved.

Please give it a try. Just go to www.findmyorder.com and re-download. The new download is a zip of four files rather than a zip of a single one, so if you unzip and find four installer files there you've got the right version.

According to the folks at the store that I'm working with, it has been replaced on all sub-stores. It should be safe to re-download for all customers.

As I said above though, I'm still verifying that myself with a test download, but the store already verified it so I think it's 99% safe.

Judge,

I don't expect people to be happy about the situation that happened with the download file or the release timing. I agree that I would have liked milkweg and kinoku to be more constructive, but overall our customers have been great. I am personally quite upset that a corrupt file somehow got through to release and I understand how upset a customer would be who bought it and downloaded it to find it wasn't working.

I'm just glad so many customers have been patient while we hustle to fix this. Hopefully the situation is now resolved and we can move on to making sure it doesn't happen again.

I got the humor Milkweg, don't worry.

I've played JA2. I think the promo vid for this game could be a whole lot better. Just a lot of people standing around shooting point blank after talking to each other?

I really dont know what the whole fuss is about. Do you think Matrix went out of the way to mess with the release of this game?Seriously....S**t happens..Thats life.......Who do you think would  fix a problem like this first? A big faceless corporation who could care less about your sad little a** or these guys here, who actually play "shudder" games!!!!!

Btw, I'm still waiting to get my copy of Maximum Football working on my system...It's only been about 8 months.. You dont see me posting diatribes on thier forums about it or camping out in front of Erik's house picketing!

Sorry, you can now go back to your ranting...i'm done being a fanboi.....[:D]

Just testing out my new blood pressure meds...yup they are working correctly.Needed a issue to bring up the old pressure..This one fit the bill...lol

I noticed Milkwegs winkie so it's not fired off at him...

Yes I have been on both sides of the issue and have been slammed myself
My life is complete. 1000 Matrix posts.....
