HG Command Console?

I did something to bring up the HG command console. Is there a way to clear it? Typing "exit" was a big mistake, since it exited the game, losing an hour of gameplay. OK, it wasn't very good gameplay, since I'm having to re-learn and remember a hell of a lot, but I sure would like to have had the option of finishing that screwed-up session. Oh, well.

On an American keyboard, it's the tilde ("~") key that activates/deactivates the command console in HG. It's this key for most games that have a command console; it's a gaming industry standard.

So what commands can we do with the console? Is there a list somewhere?

open the console with ~ and press TAB. it looks like it crashed but give it a while and it will come up.
