Norm Koger's The Operational Art of War III is the next game in the award-winning Operational Art of War game series. TOAW3 is updated and enhanced version of the TOAW: Century of Warfare game series. TOAW3 is a turn based game covering operational warfare from 1850-2015. Game scale is from 2.5km to 50km and half day to full week turns. TOAW3 scenarios have been designed by over 70 designers and included over 130 scenarios. TOAW3 comes complete with a full game editor.
Something that would be cool in TOAW would be coop LAN support
like playing Barbarossa and 1 guy commands 1 army group , and the other other another one
aA little bit like in World in Conflict.
Well, if you want to assign one army group to one person and one or more to others, you would first have to have a chain of command in TOAW so you can assign HQs and their command to specific players and.... right now TOAW doesn't have that (well, other than in the counter colors which just gives you two levels of chain of command).
And, what I am talking about here, in TOAW terms, is just the ability of a formation to contain 'other formations' (e.g. sub formations) in addition to the units that formations contain now.
With this, if you click on the sub-formation in a formation it would take you to the formation display for the sub formation instead of the unit display that you get when you click on units.
Would also need a 'higher level formation' button to go up a level, and probably a pointer in a formations record to the higher level formation, and of course the functions in the editor for scenario designers to assign formations to the higher level formations.
But, not THAT big a job as I see it but.... things like this are not happenning, and why should they? Matrix is not pulling in any funds for doing things like this and so only 'limitied' support is provided. Ralph has only limited time to support TOAW, probably has a RL job (or multiple ones) that have the higher priority.

It's been done through PBM.
Good luck getting more than a couple of TOAW players in the same physical location for a LAN game. Even assuming you could have everyone moving their peices at once, Force 2 still has to sit and wait for however many hours for Force 1 to take their turn.
A non-starter. Perhaps some development to make PBM multiplayer more practical.

"War Studies"
"War? Huh. What is it good for?"
"Absolutely nothing."
