TFs "Home Port" Problem

Post by Dereck »

I am creating TFs in Karachi. The base is assigned to the India Command and the ships assigned are British. However, after the task force has been created the Return to line actually says "Return to Auckland".

Can anybody give me an explanation of what I could have done to cause this?

The India Command HQ is assigned to be under the Southeast Asia HQ so I don't know how New Zealand comes into play here.

Thanks.

I do beleive that it has to do with the slot # used. In CHS TFs created at India Command Ports will have return to Auckland but no return to Aden.

Okay thanks. Then it looks like I didn't do anything wrong and this just may be normal behavior.

I always set the home port myself anyways but I was just curious why something like this happened.

Thanks again.

Yeah it is "normal behavor" [:D] and we're having similar problems in AE testing (except my TFs around India are defaulting to "San Francisco" ... but thanks to this thread maybe we know why so we need to go try to fix!!!

The issue in CHS may be that it is a data mod the took over New Zealand Command as India Command - folding New Zealand units and bases into Australia Command.  I think it may even have renamed that to Anzac Command.

However the code still thinks New Zealand, which is why Auckland shows up.

Don't think it's related to any AE issues...

Right but unfortunately this thread is mislabeled (I think). I think we are really talking about a "default major command return to port" problem, not a "home port" problem.

Since you are looking at this, I noticed that if Japan occupies Noumea then the return to port is grayed out, you have to both pick the home and destination port, you cannot chose to return to home port. Again it seems some kind of hard coded thing that may be possible to fix, but if not it is not a big problem.
