I would like peoples opinion on these questions

What if anything can Russia do to counter the Leinngrad attack, move 1 and 2, as described in The free blitzkrieg staff academy for pacifists?

Can Russia recover if this attack succeeds?

Has any won one from this position?

Russia can recover.
In my russia 1941 games i lost often Leningrad, sometimes in the first turns.
 
The key is to focus at the northern area after that happens.
Why ? You have to keep german AG North busy. You should prevent them from doing
two things:
 
1. Attacking and capturing Murmansk
2. Assisting AG Center in its attack against Moscow.
 
If you allow one of these two things you´ll lose the game.
It´s not good to lose Leningrad especially early in the game, but it doesn´t
mean the russians can´t longer win. Terrain behind Leningrad es VERY good for defense.
