WF Optional Rules Selection Problem

I've got this game on my Windows XP machine, got all of the patches, and am trying to play a game vs the AI. When I am asked for which optional rules I wish to use, the only one that I have checked is for Armor Facing. However, when I start to play the scenario (Hold Until Relieved), the game is running using Extreme Fog of War though I didn't select it. I closed and relaunched the application three times, and it happened each time. Is this an issue with West Front only, and whether or not it is, is there a way to fix this issue?
