global glory

Gary Grigsby’s World at War is back with a whole new set of features. World at War: A World Divided still gives complete control over the production, research and military strategy for your side, but in this new updated version you’ll also be able to bring spies into the mix as well as neutral country diplomacy, variable political events and much more. Perhaps the largest item is the ability to play a special Soviet vs. Allies scenario that occurs after the end of World War II.

Can you be a little more specific? "Unplayable" doesn't convey much information. I haven't experienced a crash in several years (trying to load files with from an opponent with an unpatched version of the game); if that's the problem you're having then it may be related to hardware, installation or a missing patch ... but it's hard to say.

it's the same problem as I have always had with global glory. After I am finished playing for the day, I am not able to continue playing because of a fatal runtime error. It has happened on 3 separate computers. So I know I'm not crazy. every single computer I have ever played on gives me that error making it impossible to play it. It's only after I uninstall the game and don't download the global glory patch where I am actually able to play the game

Several types of runtime errors have been reported and solved in the Support thread for this game.

tm.asp?m=1879393
tm.asp?m=1516566
tm.asp?m=1670505

The most common fix involved deleting all old saved games files.

If that doesn't help then can you post one more time ... in the support thread ... and include actual text from the runtime error. I know it's tedious, but that's the easiest way to troubleshoot online like this ... collect all the problems in one place and record everything that breaks and everything that works to fix it. And of course there's always:

Hope that helps. Best of luck.

I don't know how to do any of that. I need a detailed description on how to do that. I re intalled the game just yesterday, so the only game played this time is global gory under the saved file as Rommel

The very first thing to try is to delete all save files from the save directory then try again. I added a post to this thread

tm.asp?m=1879393

to describe where those files are located.

panzers, I see we had a discussion around July/August last year in the support subforum. The same requests made then still apply. Please try to be very descriptive of what you are doing when the problem occurs. I.e., what screen are you in, what buttons are you pressing, etc.

I am guessing from "After I am finished playing for the day" that you may have been trying to save the game, but I cannot be sure. If you had just clicked the button to go to the file save screen when it crashed then I consider the old file version problem to be very very likely, and deleting all preexisting files may be the easy solution.

Good luck!

I have it running now. I have to play at least 3 full turns in a row so that won't happen. Kind of rediculous, but at least I have it.
Cannot wait for windows 7. November can't happen soon enough. I have a friend that has a beta of it and it is going to be wonderful. It is supposed to be everything that vista isn't.
