1.05.03 Status changes unbidden in minor

Turk lapsed War. It always does against Dalmatia!!!!!!!
Rs built a Dal INF
April: DALMATIA falls to Russia. IN LOG
June: Rs notices DAL has switched from Free to CONQ. No Rs did not downgrade.

I think it was a change somewhere in 1.04 to make the AI downgrade free states without corps. But it sounds like you're talking about it happening to a human player without an order to do so?

If that's what you mean, it's a bug. I would usually do this downgrade, but not always. If I have a war going on in the vicinity I don't want to evaporate that garrison and allow my enemy to walk in. It's a good enough rule for the AI until it can be taught to evaluate the situation, but should be left to a human player's choice.

Yeah  I normally downgrade Free Jokes to Conq when "safe".  I spent $1 out of my pocket to buy DALM INF and so change didn't go over big, now I have ungarrissoned country and no free depots in near future to send one.

Is Russia AI controlled?
The AI is beginning to downgrade the Freestates (With no corps) to conquered status in the diplomacy phase.
ALSO, I am trying to remember if a minor with no corps units would auto conquer after a lapse??? This seems to ring a bell.

No, I was playing Russia and with no feasible way to Garr Dalmatia I bought a INF Reinforcement but couldn't use it as gone to CONQ by June.  Fortunately TURK A.I. couldn't be bothered to grab it. 

The war did lapse.  This was 1st time I noticed an auto-lapse, but I have had some minors plague me in Germany but I wrote it off as Fr owns so many minors I couldn't keep track.
