Head Count: Who's Still Playing PS?

Post by KG Erwin »

Ok, we have yours truly, Let's Play 2 and Wrathchild keeping the Locker reports alive. With DDSBB seemingly in a long gestation period, a few of us are still plugging away with PS. Who else is still playing?

I still play but not as often. I have taken a break not from PS baseball, per se, but from the PC in general. I work with them everyday and thought I needed a break. I will be back though.
Funny thing, I have now gotten back into the XBox 360 Role playing games. (LOVE them games!!)

I'm addicted to this game. I just can't help it. I enjoy reading everyone's locker room reports and the immersion factor of playing in the old days. I'm so sick that last night as I was laying in bed I was debating whether I should bring up 19 year old Ty Cobb full time into the majors next year or leave him in the minors since I have an abundance of outfielders.

LetsPlay,

What are you playing on the 360? I got distracted for a while by a PC game called Neverwinter Nights, but after having just bought two books by Josh Leventhal (Take Me Out To The Ballpark and World Series 1903-2007) I can't get enough baseball.

I still play nearly every day, and it's still my favorite game.

I'm still playing PS. But, I'm new to the game and new to the forum. So far, so good. I've spent a couple weeks learning my way around the game, the database, and the xml. Now I'm simming some history into my association and I will be ready to play out games in a day or two. I'm looking forward to it.

I bang out a few games from time to time but just don't play nearly as much as I did. I have to say I have been very disappointed in the lack of progress on the new version and that plus a good football season has kept me on the sidelines.

I had been playing until my laptop decide that the operating system was in need of an overhaul.  I am hoping to get back to playing as soon as I can get eveything back loaded and running right.

I still play at least 1 game a day. Sometimes as many as 3.
IMO this is still the best baseball sim on the market!

Keep the locker reports coming guys .... I enjoy reading them.

I'm still playing. Most of my PureSim time is spent in an online league. I have to say that after competing against humans, solo play doesn't appeal to me as much. I don't have confidence the game can challenge me. Having to come up with a set of house rules to give the ai a chance bothers me a little more now than it did before entering an online league. Well, maybe I'll fire up a new solo career and see what happens . . .

I still play too - I usually take the winter off. Spring training is right around the corner and I'll soon catch the fever.

KG,
I still visit these boards, but haven't played more than a few games since October.

Still play occasionally but play a LOT of sports sims anyway and time has greatly reduced for gaming the last 4 months - hoping to see more free time soon and get back to it.

Still like to play this one. Have been waiting for DDS just to see, but this one has been a great game with great value for the price.

I still play a couple of times per week.  I usually clip through a couple of weeks of games in a sitting.  I come to this board and Wolverine's maybe once per week to keep in touch on any progress.

My association is just closing the 2015 season (I started with the 2007 rosters).  My Amazin's just erased an 8.5 game deficit from the middle of August to take a 1.5 game lead with 6 games to go.

I would post in the locker room but I am just not that diligent about it.

I'd like to, but I can't seem to find the time anymore. I will say one thing:

"I've played dozens and dozens of Baseball, Hockey, Football, Basketball, Golf, etc sports sims, but I think that I enjoyed playing PureSim (especially the early versions) more than any of them. I really liked PS's interface and how simple it played. Yet it was always just the right amount of "depth" after trying day at work."

I must say -- I miss it quite a bit.

Who else is still playing?

I'll be back playing it in the next few weeks, KG. I've generally always taken up football simulation between October and February. Offers a nice break and prevents burn-out on one or the other. Looking forward to getting back to it, should be interesting, as I believe I left off at the beginning of the 1947 season.

I'm still waiting for the new game. I haven't played any PS games in awhile, but have looked at some of my old assn Almanacs to keep my fond memories alive.
