dreaded error code 123999777

Post by Treefrog »

this shuts the game down. my best recollection is that one must move the save and save them in a different folder, then reboot the game with patches. correct?

I looked in the tech support area and found some posts from September about this. It appears we were never able to duplicate this, but several users reported that it has to do with PBEM and that you have to reinstall in order to get rid of it. I remember with one of our games in the past year we had problems where you had to get rid of some older save games from your save directory when installing a new version, or the game would crash when you went to the load save screen (it would crash when trying to display the old saves on the screen). Now I can't remember which game had this problem, and I can't remember if it was just something we experienced in testing or if it was in a public version. Since the users said it had to do with PBEM, you might try moving your PBEM saves to another directory and see if that works. If not, try reinstalling since at least two users indicated this solved the problem for them.
All understanding comes after the fact.

Joel, Thanx. I'll try to reduce my voluminuous game save files and try again.

I just received this dreaded error again. This is the 3rd time since early Fall. Frustrating, but not the end of the world, a fix would be nice though.

Still not sure what's causing this, we'll investigate again though. Please use the reinstallation work-around until then if this comes up. What kind of security software are you all running, out of curiosity? Can you create an exception for the WBTS folder and files and see if that resolves the issue?
