Need help editing existing scenarios

Post by candam »

I cannot get the CE to modify any of the original scenarios. I can't even open them. I have XP w/sp2 and Access 07.
How do I modify any of the original scenarios?
I am quite the newbie to this and need step by step directions.
Can someone help me so I can enjoy the game?

I'm not sure what you mean by the 'CE'. Are you able to open the Scenario Editor (SE)?

Harpoon Classic Scenarios

All my icons look like the winharp 32. I have an icon for Larry Bonds Commanders edition
Scenario editor, but when I click on it it says" 16 bit operating system c\windows\system32\autoexec.nt - file not suitable for running ms-dos and windows apps." It gives me the option to either ignore or close. When I hit ignore it just closes.

Please take a look at http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=1633589 , specifically the section about the SE not running.  I would guess that you had a virus attack once upon a time and the damage is still in place.  Post again as you need more help.
