UNUSUAL PROBLEMS

Hired Guns: The Jagged Edge is a turn-based strategy that puts you command of a squad of specialists for hire in the genre’s biggest game-world yet: the African country Diamond Coast. Diamond Coast is a playground for the cruel and corrupt, each with their own agenda. Choose your friends wisely and buy an army of ruthless mercenaries to unleash mayhem on your foes. Choose “jobs” from different factions and complete them for cash to upgrade your weapons and hire more elite soldiers of fortune.

UNUSUAL PROBLEMS

Post by noname »

Reading this forum I have not seen these problems that I have encountered. WHen clearing the fortress map an enemy soldier suddenly appeared behind me in the area I just walked through. No big problem. Next I took the Port. Soon the enemy attacked me there and I had to defend. On one of the enemy turns the game just froze. I reloaded and tried many times. froze every time. found that I could only defend the port with 2 squads of hired mercenaries. They had little trouble. I could not do it. Next I thought I would take the crossroad north of the port. sounded interesting as it is the home of the McKonnen brothers. No Mckonnen brothers but plenty of enemies. cleared the whole map but could not leave. checked whole map again looking for enemy. No one , all dead and no civilians either. covered every squar inch. game just would not let me leave. Had to load save and just skip this map. Anyone have these problems?

the port, there is a bad area that they come in on, and the guy gets stuck (I tried to hammer that guy as soon as I am allowed to fire, before he can move (you knock him down, or kill him and the rest are able to move)

on the vill map, there was somebody there, some where, they can be HARD to find, when they don't want to be, and yes, you can be almost right on top of someone and not see them

They can hide quite well, and sometimes in places you do not expect.

In the North Base I spent about half an hour trying to work out where the remaining enemies were hiding - every now and then the game would switch to turn based mode but none of my team could spot them, and no shots were ever fired.
After some time searching every accessible building and all the nooks and crannies of the hills the only place left was a toilet block - one which I couldn't get inside (either it has no doors, or they don't work properly, because I could not get an interaction icon to come up).

Blowing out a side wall of said toilet block revealed one somewhat dazed soldier :)

It seems like he was walking back and forth in a 2x2 area and looking out the windows.  Depending on the direction he was looking he sometimes spotted one of my mercs climbing around the hills, which sent the game into turn based mode although he could never line things up properly to get a shot off.

It was definitely an interesting exercise!

Hard Sarge you are right. That was the way to do it. Deathifier- I didn't believe you but tried again and you were also right. An officer was lying down inside a building. I had stopped searching buildings because many of them I could not enter and gernades are too scarce to waste on randomly blowing up walls. Thanks to you both

good, glad we were able to help out some

later on, once you get into maps where you may fight alot, I tend to go around and clear fields of fire (knock down walls and bushes) for later fights, kind of pain while doing it, but pays off later on
