Vengance I upgrade path

Post by RUPD3658 »

I am playing stock with PDU on. I just noticed that I will be producing Vengence Is soon but can't find any unit that upgrades to them. Am I missing something or do I have to wait for them to arrive as reinforcements?

A British Buffalo unit can upgrade to them....

iirc several blenheim units and Indian units will upgrade to them.  Of course that might just be CHS I'm thinking of.

Was just playing a stock turn and noticed one of the Australian Buffalo squadrons upgrades to Vengances. 21 or 24 RAAF I think.

Thanks. I will have to check. Brit upgrade paths tend to be weird.

I just checked. I have already upgraded the 2 RAAF Buffalo sqaudrons to Kittyhawk I. This seems to have closed the upgrade path.

The Vengeance was a great plane..The USAAF thought they were foisting them off on the Aussies, but as in the game, the plane had a great range and gets the dive bomber "bonus"..

After further searching I found 3 Aussie Wirraway squadrons which upgrade to Vengance I. Time to make them into something usefull. [:)]

They only got taken out of service because a USAAF general, (I think Kenney) didnt believe in them. Equally, the more modern Fighter-Bombers could carry a similar load and only use 1 crew instead of 2.

They earned an excellent reputation in close support of troops in both Burma & New Guinea.
