Head to head - am I doing this right?

Am I doing this this right? I want to play head-to-head with myself and let the computer take care of the mechanics of searching, etc.

1. I start WiTP
2. Select head-to-head on the menu
3. Select a scenario
4. Select start the scenario
5. In the 1st year scenario, I am given the Japanese player menu
6. I make the Japanese player choices
7. Save and end the game
8. Select head-to-head on the menu
9. Select the saved scenario
10. Now I get the Allied player menu
11. I make the Allied player choices
12. Save and end the game
13. Select head-to-head on the menu
14. Select the saved scenario
15. Now the computer starts resolving the orders
16. After moves and combat, I am back at the Japanese player men
17. I repeat steps 6 thru 14.

Its working, but it seems like a lot of extra steps. Also, if I save and end before I am completely finished issuing orders (my spouse was after me because dinner was ready), when I come back I'm the other player.

If you haven't finished entering your orders then only save the game - no need to end the turn every time. When you re-open the file it will ask for the password for the current (same) player.
