Old mitigation for TC-bug?

Post by spellir74 »

Someone here once posted a stopgap technique for mitigating some the TnkComm bug.

Something along the lines of finding the old blackened damage-texture and putting it in some folder or something.

Does any body remember? What was it?

OWS was much better in this regard.
Images should be easier to load at Matrix.

I think Stridor posted something not long ago thought it was in a thread about has this been fixed yet but I just checked and that wasn't it.

Seems like it was copying a file image from somewhere and replacing one in PCK.

The texture is the destroyed.dds file. There should be one in the Generic Vehicle folder.
If this was to be copied to the folder where a vehicles body.x is located the vehicle should look burned when it is destroyed.
The downside is that the transparency of the vehicle skin no longer works so round things like hatches and maybe wheels look square.

Yeah that's bad. Deal breaker actually.

Mobius you like the stock 75mm Sherman using Mraah's old 76 mm model I concocted. Well I did a 75mm model proper for it. So you in particular should really like that.

I haven't downloaded any Sherman models yet.

I didn't know they were complete until yesterday when I was showing someone the forum and new models.

Are these Lend Lease or West Front versions?
Because someone should do some scenarios using these vehicles.

Because of new data sources I'm going to re-calibrate the data on some of the US and UK guns.
